And Disney+ could just be the outlet to do it. In this world of revivals and reboots, where a barrage shows from yesteryear make attempted comebacks, I would consider another attempt at All My Children and One Life to Live (or a combination of the two). Since much of the audience for both former ABC soaps were regular viewers for decades (translation: they probably started watching at the coveted millennial age), I also think there could be a new - and younger - demographic, digitally savvy, that might tune in. And, as Disney plans original content for Disney+, I would hate to see such a valuable audience segment not be recognized. I think the likelihood of the target daytime audience perusing the Internet is far greater today that it was six years ago.

And, if you venture on social media, you will still see comments from the audience missing All My Children and One Life to Live. Netflix, of course, opened the floodgates to a rash of competitors under the new "when you want, where you want to watch" programming philosophy. If they did not watch digitally the first time, why would it be any different now?īut that was 2013, right before the success of the first hit scripted series on Netflix, House of Cards.

Of course, I realize that the target demographic for these daytime dramatic showcases are still older women who may not still understand what exactly digital is.
